A blog of questions answered, and updates made.
It's time I think, to explain something on the website, that everyone who creates an account has access too, but may not be aware of all of it's features. I'm speaking, of the static bar on the bottom of your screen!
Taking a look at the bar, it may seem limited, but you control a fair amount of functionality of the site with this bar. I'll go through the bars icons, and what you can find within them with a mouse click.
This is the first icon on your bar. It has your username in it, along with a light, colored yellow most likely. If you click on your username, the menu opens up and allows you to select how you'd like to be viewed on the site: Online, Offline, Away, or Busy.
The second button, is a quick status button for you, much like the status box you find on Facebook. Pressing this button pops up just a plain text box where you can type in your message for your friends on Winnipeggers.
This is your mail icon. It doesn't function exactly the same as your email does, but it does act as a basic version of it. You have an Inbox, Sent box, Compose, and Trash box.
This button, is your friends button. When there's a number over it (like displayed) it's showing how many of your friends are currently online. If you press this button, your popup box will contain links to your Friend Requests where you can accept or reject friends, and displays your online friends, as well as their status messages.
The settings button allows you a lot of control over your profile, and your visibility on the site. If you're not careful with these settings, you can make yourself unavailable on Winnipeggers. Using this button will allow you control of your Account (edit your account), Privacy (tweaking these options the wrong way can make you unaccessible to everyone on the site), Member Menu settings (the menu I'm outlining here), and Simple Messenger settings (basic IM service provided by the site.
There are only two links in the Dashboard button, Activity, and Unregister. Unregister, does just that. It completely deletes your profile, and everything associated with it, from Winnipeggers, immediately and permanently. The Activite button, brings you to a communications page which lists your friends, friends requests, blocked members, greetings, etc.
The Videos button is just a quicklink to get to the videos page.
As is the Games button.
I hope this has shed a little more light on some of the features that Winnipeggers has to offer to you!!
