As a Winnipeg based site, it would be great if it didn't ask for Country and stuff like that when filling out boxes to make groups and the like, it should automatically default to Winnipeg.

Winnipeggers has been built with the idea of providing a space online for all of us to get together as more of a community, but being the web there will be other people using the site as well who may have at one time lived in Winnipeg or has family here. So having all of the options automatically defaulted or removed wouldn't be the best course of action.

Yes the site is built with Winnipeggers in mind, but all businesses and groups (virtual and otherwise) are welcome to use the site for it's designed purpose : Providing an online social gathering spot for Winnipeggers.

This site is pretty sweet... i like the fact that i can have it connected to my face book!.... and at the bottom theres TWO... yes i can see 2 logout buttons... gotta make sure that im logged off!..... good job on the site... i think it will be a big hit after a little more tweeking!... good layout i think... best of all ITS A WINNIPEG site.... awesome job!!!!

Winnipeggers is here with one of the goals of making Winnipeg a closer community, providing a central place for people to find information, make new friends, explore interest in community groups or events, and so on.

For businesses, it's a venue where an add can be placed, and customers can visit the site and comment and rank their service which can be seen by everyone interested in their services. Homes for sale or rent, articles to buy or sell, a blog to share your opinion, a simple way to pass the time playing games or engaging in a conversation in the forums, and more and more as Winnipeg weighs in on what Winnipeg wants.

The chat forum is not user-friendly at all, should be single line threads - with the option of quick post reply, full-post reply, or flag options. you need to offer ppl the option of deleting their account.

Thanks for asking about that, it is possible for a user to delete their account, although it's a friendlier term.

In the bottom navigation bar, there is the "Dashboard" option. Clicking it, will give you a popup box with the option to "Unregister" your account, effectively deleting your profile.

I'm having trouble editing my profile?

When you've edited your profile, and scrolled to the bottom of the page and clicked the "Save" button, don't immediately return to the site. If all of your information has been entered correctly, you will have received a small box detailing that your profile was saved successfully.

If the page does not change after pressing the "Save" button, scroll slowly back up the page and check for any (!) on the page. Filling the fields in correctly will alleviate any problems you have saving, editing, or changing your profile.

In the event that you have no such errors, and your edit does not work, feel free to use the "Contact Us" link on the bottom of the page to send me an email directly. In your email, please state your browser which you're using (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) and which portion of your profile you were unable to edit so I can look further into the problem.

Load times for a lot of the site are super laggy, can you do anything to lighten it up?

I am sorry for that, being that Winnipeggers is still in it's infancy, growth, and experimental phase, there will be hiccups from time to time. Cleaning up the performance, and quickening the site as a whole is an all around goal of course.

I like this site so far.. nice one to visit... would love to see more topics and other things like movies, sports, tv and more discussed in here... but very cool site.. only thing I couldnt do at all was upload my pic avater.. I would like to know where the heck to do that so I can put my pic up... but seriously, this site will do well with more things to add and get more visitors coming in like fish in no time eh?

Great ideas about the topics, you can feel free to begin any threads which you'd like to discuss.

The ability to set an avatar was always available, I just made it easier to manage now. If you look under the home icon on the navigation bar, I've added a quick link there to manage your avatars. :)

It's still a pain not to be able to hit "Post reply" at the BOTTOM of the thread.

Also I find this site really does not like the Back Button. Either using backspace, my mouse controls or IE's back button I am unable to revere out of pages I have gone into on the site. I am using the most recent IE.

I use multiple browsers while working on the site, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE, and I was unable to reproduce any problems with the back button in IE8. Do you perhaps have cookies or caching turned off? The site as it is now, is best used and viewed with Firefox or Chrome at the moment, being that IE has it's own set of internet rules to bend with.
