I wrote this blog Sept 24, 2009, hope you enjoy it.

Well, for everyone’s surprise I took a huge step and jumped on a plan to Winnipeg, Manitoba for a new start ok career and life.  The funny thing is that the move to me wasn’t that bad.  There are just a few things I have seen that catch my eye.  I will point out a few.

Traffic:

I don’t know if it’s me being in Toronto so long, but the traffic lights are crazy fast here, making traffic flow a bit smoother.  However, there are way too many one way streets, making it very hard for anyone not from this area to know where one is going.  Thank goodness for GPS right, WRONG.  Well, not on my Blackberry anyway.  I tried to find out where I was and the phone told me a spot, but it was in an area radius of 2000 metres.  No help there, but if I had an address, I could get from point A to point B with no problem.

Crime:

No one told me this was the province with the highest crime rate in the country.  DAMN, downtown Winnipeg makes old school spots like Driftwood and Regent Park look like public parks.  Now, the good thing is I keep to myself anyway, so I shouldn’t see any trouble.

Cost of Living:

This is a huge plus for anyone that lives/lived in Toronto.  The cost to live out here is dirt cheap.  I had my first bachelor apartment for $725/month in Toronto where here, that you could get a 2 bedroom apartment for under $600.  The more you do pay, the better your place is, not like T.O.  However, the cost for gas is crazy high.  Today I see gas for 99.9, and that is the norm here.

I have not gone out, which I think I will be doing this weekend, going to a football game, a dinner and possible entertainment establishment that plays good music, LOL.  I know this blog is not a juicy one, but I will get back to the heat when I get something to talk about.

I also have thought about having an outrageous comedy/life lesson/truth event and call it “What’s on Tunde’s mind.”  I was going to use “What’s in his head”, but I think that is copy written or something.
